HISTORY OF ITALIAN FOOD


Hello everybody, 

The last time I have you make discover one of the best italian restaurant in Grenoble ! Now I would like to present you the history of this food ! So here an article that speak about that : 


It is very interresting to read that because that teaches you the origin of different specialities in Italy and the localisation of each dish that we eat today in France ! 
For example, you know that pizza is originated from Naples, tortellini from Bologna and risotto from Milan? 
Accross this article, you will see that the italian cooking was inspired and was influenced by other food of whole world.

"It is why, today, Italian cuisine is extremely diverse and rich which is why it is considered one of the most unique and amazing cuisines in the world."

To finish this week, I give you a recipe, easy to prepare for you and delicious, given by an Italian friend that I met the last year from Sicily. Sicilian Chicken with Artichokes and Feta is the best dish that you can serve for a dinner between friends for example.

Ingredients : 
14 ounces (400g) diced no-salt-added tomatoes with juice 
13 ounces (370 g) artichoke hearts in water, drained and chopped 
8 ounces (230 g) green peas, drained 
2 large chicken breasts, sightly pounded 
2 ounces (60g) cup crumbled feta cheese 
1/3 (80 g) cup heavy cream (optional)
1/2 teaspoon dried basil 
1/2 teaspoon dired oregano
1/2 teaspoon pepper  
1 tablespoon olive oil 
1 medium onion, diced 
3 garlic cloves,minced

Preparation: 
Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook and mix the onion for 3 to 4 minutes. Add the garlic, and cook for another minute. Mix tomatoes, basil, oregano and pepper. Cook for 10 minutes. Add the artichoke hearts, peas and cream and simmer for 5 minutes more.

Arrange chicken breasts, spaced apart, in a shallow baking pan. Top chicken breasts with tomato sauce. Bake for 30 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through (thermometer of oven 180° ). Top with feta cheese.

And few minutes later, your dich is ready ! It is a delicious meals !
